The Smokester is Up and Running!

Baby back ribs and a rump are smoldering on the grates over hickory. So far the temp has been easy to regulate.

So that there's a homemade smoker? How do you make sure there ain't no lingering chemicals in the barrel?

It's an automotive oil barrel. Several hot paper/wood fires and then a good wire brushing to get the paint off the inside and outside is all that is required.
