More than I Bargained for but

No sense in complaining.

JACIII: 06.07.08 - 12:18 PM

I would like to see someone try to give a plain english definition of "Spiritually attuned" and "Spiritually advanced" that didn't require the reader to swallow wheel barrow loads of bullshit to even pretend to buy into.

KyrieEleison 06.07.08 - 01:14 PM
I will give it a shot.

When a secular or naturalist application of "spiritually attuned" is used, the writer is only recognizing "spooky insite" that something "unseen" is having an affect on the physical world and, because of Biblical illiteracy, does not recognize it is a full on, brutal, war between dark and light.

"Spritually attuned" Biblically means to have discernment; to discriminate between what is true (light) and what is false (darkness), between what is from God and what is from Satan.

"Spiritual discernment" is actually one of the spiritual gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12. This power is increased tremendously when one studies scripture. The FDLS case where the lack of discernment of secular society was brought to light is a very good example of the consequences of the blatant disobedience of God's commandment concerning our Biblical illiteracy... ie: no one should think they won't be next.

Biblically, "Spiritually advanced" would pertain to being Biblically literate with spiritual eyesight that only beleivers have. Secularist have no idea their disbelief causes spiritual blindness. A secularist would only attribute one who was spiritually attuned as merely a form of "quazi-poetic insite"; kind of like a blind person using reason to demand that everyone join him in believing color does not exist.

I was actually trying to get some secularist sucker to attempt to enlighten me and then aid him/her in tieing his/herself into knots, but Kyrie had a little something bright to say. Thought I'd share.

It's a Small World After All

Wrong! It a big world and it's growing because folks just don't get out and see it for themselves.

It also yielded somewhat surprising results that reveal how little people move around in their daily lives. Nearly three-quarters of those studied mainly stayed within a 20-mile-wide circle for half a year.

Their opinions are based on television broadcasts of slanted, agenda driven reports and their perception of dinosaur network applied peer pressure from prime time soap opera character's behavior and scripted expressed opinions.

Factor that into your daily life and not much will surprise you.

In the same article:

"In the wrong hands the data could be misused," Hidalgo said. "But in scientists' hands you're trying to look at broad patterns.... We're not trying to do evil things. We're trying to make the world a little better."

Science at it's altuistic "trust me" best.

Texas Judgette Walther Throws a Bitch Fit After Texas Supreme Court Smackdown

Typical for what womyn use for brains:

She was wrong, but not really

"The court does not have the power, with all due respect, to enter any other order (other than vacating)," said Julie Balovich of the Texas RioGrande Legal Aid over the telephone. She argued that no evidence justifying the additional restrictions had been entered as evidence before the judge.

I hope the FLDS lawyers simply back up and file suit. Again. All she's doing is trying to keep her clutches and those of the lying, child abducting, good for nothing, CPS in the business of the FLDS folk to cook up some more whole cloth bullshit to phuck with them for daring to show the world the bunch of power drunk bureaucrat scum they are.

This is one of those things womyn can't forget or forgive regardless of the circumstances and she won't be able to restrain herself from using her position to persecute the FLDS folk. The Texas Supreme Court should have removed the case from her jurisdiction.

Somebody disbar her. For the children.

Update: A friend of Walther posts in her defense. While slandering the FLDS, who are the victors in this particular legal battle, in the same fashion as her friend. Any guesses as to whether they have cats?
Whoa! Somebody took that post down right quick! I only made the one nasty comment....

Nike Signs Big Brown To $90 Million Horseshoe Contract

Courtesy of The Onion:

PORTLAND, OR—In a move that added the world's pre-eminent equine athlete to its stable of endorsers Tuesday, Nike signed Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Big Brown to a seven-year, $80 million endorsement contract that included a $10 million signing bonus as well as the creation of a signature horseshoe, the Air Brown.

"Nike is ecstatic to sign the top star in horseracing," CEO and Nike president Mike Parker said, unveiling the "jumphorse" logo as the Kentucky-bred colt trotted onstage. "From Michael Jordan to Tiger Woods, Nike has created formidable partnerships with the very best in sports. I can't say how proud we are to work with B.B., who is an extraordinary individual both on and off the track."

"Big B doesn't complain when he gets the far outside starting gate position," Parker added. "He just gallops. And he gives hope to everyone out there that if they train hard, push themselves, and keep their snout clean, they can accomplish anything."

Big Brown, whose Nike endorsement deal is the largest ever for a thoroughbred, was flown from New York to Portland in a private Nike jet stocked with the world's finest bourbon, caviar, sugar cubes, cigars, carrots, and hay. Upon arriving on the west coast, the equine superstar's handlers whisked him past a throng of cheering fans into a stretch limousine bound for Nike headquarters, where Brown, his 11-horse entourage, and his team of lawyers reviewed the contract one last time before signing.

Slated for release on June 1, the lightweight, U-shaped Air Brown horseshoe features Nike's patented air-cushioning system, consisting of a pressurized gas encapsulated in polyurethane and aluminum. According to Nike engineers, the innovative technology was created to provide equal measures of comfort, support, and performance on both dirt and grass tracks by reducing shock, distributing pressure, and protecting the hooves from overpronation. Big Brown intends to debut the Air Brown horseshoes on June 7 at the Belmont Stakes, when he attempts to become the first horse to win the elusive Triple Crown in 30 years.

Although Big Brown was approached by a number of suitors from sportswear manufacturers including Adidas, Reebok, and Pony, the undefeated 3-year-old was ultimately won over by Nike's willingness to work closely with him to create a horseshoe conforming to his strong sense of personal style as well as his physical needs. Big Brown was reportedly impressed by Nike's efforts when technicians used cameras to record his gait from multiple angles while he ran on a treadmill.

"Because Big Brown's hooves have been prone to injuries, we created 3D computer models to map out their exact size and shape in order to design a customized horseshoe that fits perfectly," Nike technician Kenneth Phillips said. "We've also determined he can reduce the risk of impact injuries during his workouts by exercising on a quartet of stationary elliptical machines."

Ride Hard, Ride Wet

I put this trip off for weeks. Busy, busy, busy. Springtime in Kentucky. By laast Thursday I had put it off for another three days and things were starting to crowd in agian. Phuck it. I'm goin'.

The Mighty GS was loaded like an alpine sherpa; Sleeping bag, tent, cookstove, clothes, laptop, cameras... Hey I was a Boy Scout! Be prepared was our motto!

So, I don't much more than get geared up and let the clutch out when the sky opens up to rainin' buckets. I wasn't worried; I remembered to don my super-duper, double top secret, crashproof, waterproof, abrasionproof, fireproof, weatherproof, high fashion kevlar riding suit which to date has never let me down.

Then it really started rainin'. I couldn't see much from the sheeting on my visor, so I pulled off the next rural Kentucky exit and found an auto parts store. I was one wet puppy, y'all. I made puddles where I walked. Folks were definitely wonderin' what the hell had just rolled in on 'em.

I found the RainX and proceeded to the counter. The fella checkin' my out who looked to be about 45 said, "It sure don't look like a very good day to be ridin'!"
My brain to mouth filter had become disengaged from the irritation of having to stop only a couple of hundred miles into my ride so I said the first thing to come to my mind:
"Not if you're a candyassed harley rider it isn't."

You should have seen the shock! His eyes bugged out like a deer in the headlights and with a soft/hurt voice he said, "I never heard that before."

I took my change and left. Later I got to thinkin' about what a job harley marketing has done on 95% of the american population. It their genius at marketing could be transferred to their engineering and manufacturing departments they would set the world on fire.

The Big River

The moutains are prohibited by rain or snow. What's left? The River.
THE river. The mighty Mississipi.

Forgive the lack of photo journalism, but I fear the camera could not have survived the submarine exposure from the 90 MPH, eight hour deluge. It remain buried under layers of "water resistant" travel bags.

So, there is nothing left but the aftermath:

Incidentally, waterproof gear needs to be treated with waterproofing chemicals every so often. Guess how I know.

I need to go.

But where?

It's premium riding season and I've been a good boy. I've put this trip off for 3 weeks now getting barn doors, stalls built, horses shod, clients catered to, the buildings and grounds and vehicle maintenance caught up. But there is a hitch. Well, two.

All the really choice destinations are still a bit on the chilly side or plumb snowed in and, I know it sounds disingenuous, the fuel prices are cramping my adventurous creativity.

The best riding is in or near elevation changes, the higher the delta the more fun and picturesque. Won't work. The really cool places still got snow. Alaska? Shit. South Dakota the weather is untrustworthy, now. Though, Durango might be doable.... The Dragon - been there done that and it's covered up in fat, stupid, cruiser fags.

The gas thing. Used to be motorcycling was free for all intents and purposes. Fill 'er up, strap on a tent, sleeping bag, and cook stove and the world is at your feet virtually for free. Now, 4000 miles @ 45MPG is about 89 gallons of fuel. Two years ago that was a week on the road for 200 bucks. Chump change! Throw away money! Now, it's 400 bucks and whereas that's not cost prohibitive, it starts lookin' like a sum a father should spend on entertaining more people than just himself. It's supposed to be guilt free. Oh, I can fight any related guilt off by the sheer force of my naturally self-centered ego, but that's effort I'd rather not apply.

There's bikes out there that get 100mpg, but motorcycling is about a passion for more than traveling. The bike has to speak to you. Yours might have things to say, but it will be mute whenever I'm around.

I need to go.

Eight Belles, Rest in Peace

Tough break for a tough lady.

The big girl was gaining ground on Big Brown. Closing down on him in the stretch with a full head of steam when something happened and she started fading. Damned shame. She purely ran her heart out.

I suspect she broke those bones running and never even noticed until they began making it mechanically impossible for her to run well. Horses pick up on prevalent emotions and there is always a fever pitch of excitement at the Derby. So, not only are they keyed up because they know they are about to race, but the intensity and level of excitement picked up from that many thousand people has the horses riding a veritable adrenaline tsunami wave.

There is no pain, only the fulfillment of what they are. What they were born to be. What countless generations were bred to produce; the finest athlete on God's earth. They are the offspring of champion sires and dams, immortal grandsires and mares. Legends are their ancestral heritage. Speed is their birthright, endurance their defining character.

Something you pick up on from being around lots of horses and lots of different kinds of horses is that they are happiest doing what they are meant to do. Draft horses are happiest in harness, quarter horses are happiest under saddle and working the range, saddlebreds are happiest showing off, jumpers live to jump. A racehorse loves to run, and not only to run, but to compete. They have a burning desire to run in front.

So, think of a horse doing what she loves to do. Amplify her joy with the rush of a wild roaring crowd. Challenge her supreme will to forbid a horse on the cusp of greatness his glory. She will run her heart out for you.

She did.

Hidden Treasures and One Man's Junk

I attended an estate auction yesterday where an old man had collected horse drawn conveyances of one sort or another for many years. There were enough of these things lined up well preserved out in his field to stock a museum. I took pictures of some of the interesting (to me) ones.

The wagons went from $100 to $5000. I couldn't tell any rhyme or reason to it, except for the John Deere and Owensboro wagons.

This Big old Oliver went for $2700. I thought that was a damned good price.

Still think that DNA database is harmless?

"DNA enough to file indictments", and that's all it takes to get the ball rolling since few of them want to think about their "decisions"; now there's precedent. And this comes from a rape case where it's nearly always a she said he said situation. Prosecutors are bad enough trying to get a good conviction rate (better prospects later in private practice) now; soon they won't need do anything but pull a "DNA" out of a hat to pin a crime on someone.

There's no sense in even debating how error prone and bumbling, sham "CSI" crime laboratories remain, yet they will be churning out "incontrovertible evidence" on an industrial scale. It is documented common knowledge that these "labs" are error prone, yet courts will still admit their "expert" testimony and their "scientific" evidence.

Of course, it won't be abused. Right, Bill?

Heavy Metal: Rednecks Gone Wild

What you're seeing here is a new bumper we are building for a mid-eighties one ton truck. We wanted something heavy and sturdy, but not a sea of diamond plate. It's about 2/3 finished; there is a lot of welding yet to be done and some bracing going in behind everything then it's off to the powder coater for a finish that appears remarkably like polished aluminum.

The tubing is 5" x 1/4"and the deck (diamond) plate is 1/4". All the boxing and bracing is 1/2" thick plate. I'm thinkin' it'll hold up.

Something similar will be going on the front. With a 12,000lb winch, of course.

Our next project will probably be an Escalade getting a similar treatment, though scaled down for its lighter suspension. Some 1/8" x 5" tubing and 1/8" deck plate - I don't think I can forgo the 1/2" plate box and braces though. Maybe an 8000lb winch and some mudders will help mitigate the "brutha" factor, right bro?
