What language is that in the pretty blue color? When I roll my mouse over it, it is reading almost like a spam post.
The 9 comments is coming from Blogger's own commenting system, which is loaded with the page and reflects all the spam that is autoloaded onto their servers. It takes a while for Echo to retrieve the information for its own comments, which it then uses to overwrite the Blogger count.
When Echo's servers are performing properly, this all happens so fast that you normally don't see the Blogger count. But Echo seems to be bogging down more and more lately, that this is bound to happen more often, now.
Sure enough, right after I posted that, I refreshed the page and saw the Blogger-only comments with Japanese Kanji characters in the spam comments for a few seconds before the Echo comments loaded.
